It is the second-to-last day before spring break and Quinn is in a school council meeting, trying to arrange for her middle school grad dance. It's an ordinary day - nobody paying attention, teachers getting irritated - until the school calls all of the students together for an emergency meeting. With her Dad being a doctor, Quinn has heard of the Covid-19 virus that is spreading across the globe. Nobody at her school could have it, though, so why were they now announcing that spring break would start a day early? As spring break continues extending and the virus continues to spread and kill, the fun of an extra-long holiday wears off and Quinn gets worried. She can't even have a graduation dance.

This is one of those books that seems really great because it is extremely relevant and there aren't many like it (yet). It takes a long time to write and publish a novel, so any kids' book about Covid-19 is bound to be popular right now, but if you ignore how relatable it is, it actually isn't that great of a book. The main character has almost no emotional reaction to most things, which made it hard for me to get engaged. Because of the current situation, it is a really good book, but for anyone who hasn't experienced a pandemic, I think it would be pretty boring.
