North of Nowhere by Liz Kessler - 8/10

A week in the sleepy seaside town of Porthaven was not what Mia had in mind for a perfect vacation. Some new and mysterious friends become ample distraction from family drama, though, as Mia uncovers a deeply-buried secret hidden just off the shore. This week will change Mia's life forever.

OVERALL RATING 8/10

Beautiful, exciting, engaging mystery

I was eager to get started on this Liz Kessler book, having not read her writing since I was a kid. All I could remember about her Emily Windsnap series was that it was exciting and wonderfully mysterious - and North of Nowhere lived up to this description perfectly as well! The story is a perfect mix of exciting adventures, secrets and mystery, and heartfelt moments. The one thing that did pull me from the story often was the dialogue, which often does not feel very realistic. Overall, a beautiful and mystery-filled read!
