OVERALL RATING 8/10

Mystical fantasy book, respectful to kids, fun read!

This book was a blast to read! It gave me that mystical thrill that I haven't felt since reading the early Harry Potter books. The historical setting really makes this book feel grounded - although some of the magic potions and spells later on are still a little hard to believe. I feel that Meloy's writing is respectful to kids, not dumbing things down or leaving out 'adult topics'. I would recommend this to anyone who loves a good fantasy.
