OVERALL RATING 6/10

Coverage of environmental issues, promotes harmful stereotypes, feels unrealistic

The premise of this story is quite interesting! I specifically loved the focus on environmentalism and the portrayal of non-traditional families. Unfortunately, this book promoted many harmful stereotypes/tropes. Jane ends up falling for a boy who is incredibly rude to her, Jane's father ends up dating their younger nanny, and most of the girls are generally portrayed as caring about nothing but boys and fashion. I also found the dialogue and characters quite unrealistic, which pulled me from the story a bit.
