OVERALL RATING 9/10

Very detailed, tied together perfectly at the end, satisfying

I had forgotten how incredible Grace Lin's work is until reading this. This story leaves you with the ultimate feeling of nostalgia, as each chapter and each story harken back in some abstract way to another part of the book. Reading this novel feels like watching someone paint an intricate picture, as everything slowly becomes clearer and clearer. Grace Lin accounts for every detail, and leaves no loose strings. This book, although it can stand alone, also has many references to her other work, making an even more satisfying read.
