The book thief takes place in Nazi Germany and is the story of a girl learning to read and write from a Jewish man who is hiding in her home. It is based on a true story. Though there is a film based on the book, the actual book is WAY better and you should not decide to just watch the movie instead. This is an amazingly heartfelt and beautiful book that everyone should get the chance to read.
